Surprise, The Big 40!

Today I turn the "big 40". It is hard to believe that I have been on this earth for that long. I have many memories from childhood both bitter and sweet. Back then I did not know where I would end up. Where would my life take me? Life has taught me many lessons and I am grateful for them all. I hope God allows for many more years, more memories, and more lessons that will cause me to grow. Sometimes growing can be painful, but it is always beneficial.

This past weekend I went to visit my mom and sister for a "quiet" birthday celebration. When I walked into the room it was filled with people that I love and have had deep connections with over the years. Some family members, some in-laws, some friends. I can't believe they all pulled it off. I can actually say I had no clue. My mom had everyone form a circle and say a memory that they shared with me, serious or funny. It was nice to remember where I had come from. Now God only knows where I will go.
